Fifty years ago today, the Empress of Soul and her Pips released a song that would become a top ten hit and an example of soul perfection- If I Were Your Woman. The song has Gladys begging an acquaintance to be his woman. The song is three minutes of Motown perfection and one of our favorite songs of all time. Only a fool would turn down a woman who could sing like Gladys. And her irresistible vocals prove that fact even today.
